Fall Update
This summer and early fall has been a busy time for us. We have played several shows and have been busy booking as much as we can to promote our new CD Full Circle.
We will be playing in Cleveland MS at the Tin Roof on Friday September 12, 2008. This will be our first time at this venue and it promises to be a great one as it's the weekend of the first Delta State home football game.
We also played the first Oxford Music Festival this year, which is a festival that is dedicated to showcasing local Oxford talent. Many of the great Oxford musicians and bands were featured, so head on over to the website and check out this great festival. We also have some some great pics of the festival, thanks to our good friend Scotty Polston .
As the fall continues we are scheduled to play OtherFest, in Rosedale, MS, which is a great free festival which supports Lukemia research. We will also be returning to Jackson MS in October to play JacktoberFest, a festival set in Downtown Jackson.

Rocket 88 playing Summer Festivals
This summer will be a very busy time for us, as we promote our new CD "Full Circle". We will be playing several intersting events this summer, including an appearance at the North Mississippi Hill Country Picnicon July 4th, The Batesville SpringFest on May 17th, and many more. Rocket 88 Song on Oxford Film Festival Compilation
Although our debut album has not even been released, "Grace", the fifth song on the new album has been selected to be included in the Oxford Film Festival Compilation CD. Keep checking to see when our first CD release party will be.
Adios, 2007
Well, 2007 has come and gone, and all we can say is it was indeed a great year for us. The year saw many new songs written, the completion of our debut album (which is in the final stages of getting pressed and ready for distibution), lots of friends made and great shows played.
Our good friend George McConnell joined us for several shows, including gigs at Jubilee, Two Stick and Proud Larry's. We've also had other special guests join us from time to time, including Eric Carlton making regular appearances on keys/organs, GinGin Abraham on vocals, Andrew Ratcliffe and Brad Porter on drums, Patrick McLary on guitar, and Seth Libbey on harmonica.
George McConnell also joined us for a New Year's Eve BLOWOUT at Proud Larry's. The house was packed, and we pulled out all the stops, surprising the already energized audience with performances of Rock and Roll (Led Zeppelin), Voodoo Cadillac (Southern Culture on the Skids), and more.
We have added many new dates to the calendar, including some in new venues, including The Pickled Okra in Cleveland, The Bottling Company in Hattiesburg, and we are working on several new dates in Starkville. Be sure to check the Shows Page for all the upcoming show dates as they are added.
We are also planning CD Release Parties for the near future, so keep an eye out here for news and announcements regarding locations and dates.
George McConnell to play two shows with Rocket 88
Good news folks. George McConnell will sit in with us for our Thursday Oct. 10 show at
Two Stick and Saturday Oct. 20 show at Proud Larry's in Oxford, MS (after the Arkansas game). Last month we played a private wedding party for some friends in Georgia with George sitting in. We
decided it was so much fun, that we should have another round. So mark your
calendars and get out to see these two shows. It will be a good time.
