It’s been a while since we posted here so we wanted to give everyone an update on what was happening with the band.

Today at Off-Square Books in Oxford, Mississippi, we will be part of the house band at Thacker Mountain Radio. We will also be doing a set later in the show. Check their website for more information and links to listen live.

On Friday October 14, we’ll be at Proud Larry’s , doing a co-bill with our good friends Jimbo Mathus and the Tri-State Coalition. This is a show you will not want to miss. We’ll have several special guests, Tim Burkhead (Blue Mountain, Kelley Norris) on drums, Patrick McClary (The Minor Adjustments, Daybreakdown) on guitar, and Kell Kellum on pedal steel.

Also, our very own Nathan Robbins will be doing a happy hour show at The Blind Pig on Friday October 14 from 5:30 – 8:00pm. Local favorite Gin-Gin Carlton will be playing this show as well as some other special guests. More info: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=243235032395712

We’ll head back to The Blind Pig on Friday October 21 for another happy hour show, this time including most of the Rocket 88 crew.

Finally, on Saturday October 29, we will have the pleasure of headlining the C-Spire Wireless EMERGE – Pigskins in the Park in downtown Tupelo, Mississippi. This will be the second installment of this event. It will be held in Fairpark in downtown Tupelo and will feature some large jumbotrons showing the Ole Miss and Mississippi State games. Rocket 88 will go on around 2pm, which will be after the end of the Ole Miss game, and before the kickoff of the MSU game. There will be concessions and alcohol sales, and fans are encourage to bring, tents, chairs, and other tailgating gear and enjoy a great afternoon of football and music in the park.
